Medium size air-conditioned and heatable event boat

This medium-sized riverboat with a capacity of 80 people is especially suitable for smaller meetings, receptions and wedding parties. Party service with catering is provided on demand.

The riverboats (Project R-51 and R-51E) of the Moskva type were built in the Sovietunion from 1969 till the end of the 90's for domestic use and for export. The Moscow Shipping Co. operates today 32 units of the type.
The type had two main engines (type 3D6H-150) with 150 HP each. The units of the MAHART had later Rába-type engines, and from 2004 Cummins-type main engines.

The MS Matthias Rex is the fourth and final member of our medium-sized event boat fleet, which also includes the Győr, the Gönyü and the Corvin boats. The exterior and interior of the four boats were identical originally, but subsequent alterations and refurbishing have resulted in widely different characteristics for each of these boats.

On the outside, the Matthias Rex carries the familiar blue and white colors. Its upper deck is open on the sides and is fitted with rows of benches, also making it well suited for sightseeing trips.
The restaurant on the lower deck is dominated by blue and grey, from floor coverings through draperies and chair upholstery to the table skirts. Of course, the latter can be replaced on demand for any given event. The bar corner located in the back of the restaurant makes the enclosed deck space, the front section of which is separated from the rest of the restaurant by brass railing just like the one found on the Győr, really intimate. In the spirit of accessibility, a special washroom was installed on the Matthias Rex for the comfort of our handicapped passengers. The boat, which typically houses events for 20 to 80 people, is a preferred choice for wedding ceremonies, for which the upper deck offers an ideal location. Although the boat has no kitchen of its own, catering with cold or hot dishes can be ordered through the in-house catering service of MAHART PassNave Passenger Shipping Ltd.

Similar to our other smaller event boats, we can provide additional equipment for presentation on top of the existing infrastructure (sound system, CD player and microphone) on prior arrangement.

Capacity depending on type of event: The types listed below are for information purposes only. Actual maximum capacity is determined by the exact type of event. Terrace capacity is dependant on weather conditions.
