MAHART Passnave Passenger Shipping Ltd. has the oldest past among the passanger shipping companies in Hungary. Our passanger shipping services on the Danube which exist for more than a hundred years are dedicated to ensure the satisfaction of all of its passengers, guests and partners. Our company was founded in 1994 as MAHART Hungarian Shipping Company. After a privatization in 2008 MASPED First Hungarian General Forwarding Company became the owner of 84% of our company.

The past decade has clearly shown that even though our services are related to boats, our core activity is no longer shipping in its classic sense but rather providing European-level service to the tourism market on water. Each year, we welcome more then half a million passengers and guests on board the 20 riverboats and 9 hydrofoils in our fleet. Our clients, customers and partners include several hundred public institutions, companies and private individuals. Our aim is to provide the highest level of service to the domestic traveling audience and visitors to Hungary alike. Our range of services consists of river passenger transport, organizing events on boats, and numerous ports on the Danube, and the activities of the MAHART Tours Travel Agency.

Complementing our scheduled services to the Danubebend are one-hour sightseeing cruises, a ferry service to the Margaret Island, and evening cruises with dinner and live music in Budapest.
Our hydrofoil service linking Budapest, Bratislava and Vienna, wich started up in 1963, run from May until the end of September.
The hydrofoils also run from Budapest to Visegrád and Esztergom, from Esztergom to Visegrád and Budapest and a new liner from Budapest to Szazhalombatta. Several theme cruises run to Komárom, Solt, Kalocsa, Hajós, Baja, Mohács and to the Visegrád International Palacegames.

The activities that have developed in the past ten years were charter shipping with riverboats and the organizing of events on boats not only in the capital city, but also from 2008 in Visegrád (MS Mathias Rex) and from this year in Esztergom (MS Ister-Granum). Our partners include businesses, tourism companies and private individuals. The number of annual boat rentals is close to 1,500, during which trips the total number of passengers amounts to 150,000.

Our travel agency MAHART Tours has a leading role in the sale of international ferry tickets in Hungary. This is supplemented by our all-year offer of holidays and luxury trips on both the Mediterranean Sea and on oceans.

From February 2009. the MASPED Company member MAHART Passnave company is dealing with the forwarding of the conventionally transportable goods on rivers and seas. The company also arranges the handling of goods at the habours. For the orderers convenience we assume the transportation of the goods to and from the habours on railway and public roads. The MAHART Passnave Ltd. is also selling ferry tickets for the maritime container transport and freight transport.
